Navin Associates has a wide-range of associates that enable us to handle both small and large projects comfortably. For example, in one successful capacity-building project with multiple organizations we engaged 12 associates. The most consistently involved members of Navin Associates are listed below.
Chris Navin, Principal
Chris founded Navin Associates in 1992 after seven successful years as the first Director of the Boston Housing Authority’s Community Services Department and three years as BHA’s Civil Rights Contract Compliance Officer and Minority Business Enterprise Specialist. Previously, he had served as Executive Director of the largest community school in the Boston Centers for Youth and Families. An early proponent of community health and mental health, Chris was a founding member of the Uphams Corner Health Center in Dorchester. Chris holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts in Design and Administration of Mental Health and Human Service Systems, a Master’s degree in Humanistic Applications of Behavioral and Social Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Relations.
Bill Campbell, Senior Associate
Bill has worked with Navin Associates since 1995 providing a broad range of organizational development consulting services that include 360-degree assessment, strategic planning and implementation, and capacity-building. Bill’s other areas of expertise include community assessment, statistical analysis and reporting, program evaluation, grant writing, coalition-building, and assessing/analyzing workforce development programming. Beyond Navin Associates, Bill has served as Interim Program Director, Partnership for Automotive Career Education, Asian American Civic Association and Director of the Boston Medical Center’s Minority Health Career Program. Bill holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering, B.S.E.E. from Marquette University and a Masters of Urban Education from Boston State College.
Clare Shepherd, Associate
Clare has been a member of Navin Associates since 2012 but, in various professional roles, has worked closely with Navin Associates since 1999. She has a distinguished history of achievement in adult education and workforce development including planning and directing a major urban workforce development center for Action for Boston Community Development, where she worked from 1987-2010. She has been a key leader in many important workforce development organizations and coalitions. In 2011, she founded Clare Shepherd Consulting which provides services to not-for-profit organizations in partnership facilitation; grant writing; program, curriculum and staff development; and community planning. Her work as a member of Navin Associates has included coordination of adult education community planning coalitions in several Boston neighborhoods, and training adult education leaders in managing challenges and transformations. Clare holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University.
